Susanna Risch was born in Trier and studied at the "Mozarteum" Salzburg, the Musikhochschule Karlsruhe (with Maria Venuti) and at the Opernschule Würzburg. She took master-courses with Ks. Hilde Zadek, Prof. Ingeborg Most, Prof. Curt Widmer and Prof. Hanna Ludwig and won prizes at several competitions amongst which the International Robert Stolz singing competition "Wiener Operette" in 2004 and the International Jan-Kiepura competition for Operetta in 2005. She made her stage debut in 1997 as Rosalinde (Die Fledermaus) at the Theater Erfurt. Highlights of her career so far were the part of Rosalinde at the Tiroler Festspiele Erl under Maestro Gustav Kuhn, the part of Eurydice in Orff's Antigone at the Antiken-Festspiele Trier, Fiordiligi in Cosi fan tutte at the Teatro delle Erbe in Milan and the role of Sieglinde in Loriot's version of Wagner's Ring at the Münchner Philharmonie. Susanna Risch made her TV debut during the summer of 2006 at the Elbland-Festspiele Wittenberge with such prominent colleagues as Rene Kollo and Eva Lind. Her participation in a great number of concerts took her to some of the major concert halls in Germany like the Kölner Philharmonie, the Konzerthaus am Gendarmenmarkt Berlin and the Konzerthaus Dortmund. CD and radio productions as well as world premieres round up her artistic career. Her repertoire includes a broad range from baroque to modern, from opera to operetta, sacred music and Lied.
